Where do I begin?

"Where do I begin? / To tell the story of how great a love can be? [...] Where do I start?"
- 'Love Story', Carl Sigman

Indeed, where do I start?

My name is Prerana Pakhrin and I'm a chronic cartoonist. I love everything about cartoons/ comics: I love reading them, I love reading about them, I love watching them and I love drawing them.

I also love how user-friendly and visually appealing the format of blogspot is for my drawings! We are visual creatures after all. I have often been told that I'm very random and I'm pretty sure that's where most of my inspiration - ahem, ahem, mero prerana ;) - for my cartooning style stems from. My friends, in particular Saniaa Shah and Ahimsa Yonjan, encouraged me to start a blog and so here I am!

Chiya Biskut literally means 'Tea and Biscuits.' Chiya Biskut, however, not only refers to edible goods but a segment from a typical Nepali afternoon, a tradition - not unlike the Spanish siesta. Chiya Biskut is also 4 PM "high-tea" break, vestigial legacy of the British-occupied and neighboring state of India. It is a time of respite, a time to laze about. For me, it's the time of day when I draw. It only made sense to name my blog Chiya Biskut.

For my first post, I don't have a comic-strip for you yet because honestly because I'm still thinking about what the very first cartoon-post should be.

However, as the blog grows, I hope I'm able to make you laugh, consider other points of views or to have a laugh at your cost (not too cruelly of course :P). Anyway, I hope you have fun!

Cheers and Stay Tuned!

Love.

P.S. Special SHOUT-OUT to the lazing man pictured in the potey-pasal. I took this picture last summer and I think it embodies, to perfection, the Chiya Biskut spirit.

P.P.P.S. Apologies for the longest P.S. in the history of P.S.s'
